Charles Ash has developed a system of treating the effects of bad spawling within blacktop overlays on concrete roads.
We have acquired a vast experience of reflective crack control since 1984. This treatment was developed to replace the defective surface in narrow strips rather than planning off and resurfacing the whole carriageway.
The boundary of the defective material is sawn and the defective material removed. The exposed concrete carriageway is thoroughly cleaned and dried with a thermic lance. The recess is tanked out using a hot poured rubberised bitumen compound.
A SAMI membrane is then embedded in the hot compound above the line of the joint or crack in the concrete.
To complete the repair the remaining recess is filled with a rubberised asphalt manufactured on site using single size aggregate and hot rubberised binder.
